Working with media in Strife

Here you'll find the basics of working with media in Strife.

Uploaded media files (images, videos, documents) are stored in the media library, accessible under the media tab in the left side panel. Media can be inserted on a page either via a page media property or via the rich text editor.

Insert a image via page image property

Navigate to the page you want to insert an image on. Find the image property in the right editor panel. Mouse over the image placeholder and click on the image icon. The image panel will open where you can brows, filter and search for image. Select the image you want to insert by clicking on it.

You also have the option to copy an image from an external source and paste it in the image property. Hover over the image property and click the icon next to the trash bin to paste a copied image.


Edit a image via page image property

If the image property is configured for it you have the ability to crop and zoom inserted image differently for different devices (desktop, tablet, mobile), ensuring that each devices focuses on the relevant motive in the image and avoiding a bad cropping of the image.

Choose the device you want to edit the image for in the drop down menu above the image in the image property. Drag the zoom control to zoom the image. Hover over the image and you will see a square in the image, This square represent the part of the image that will be displayed for each device. Drag the square to change what part of the image that will be within the crop area. The real time preview follows your actions giving you instant feedback on how the image will appear on the page over different devices.


Insert a video via the rich text editor

Navigate to a page. Find the rich text property or the rich text chapter where you want to insert the video. Type “/” and chose “insert video”.


Upload a media file

Go to “images, “videos” or “documents” in the left side navigation panel. Click the three dots in the top right corner and chose upload.
